Pablo Quiñones Cordero, AIA, NCARB

Pablo Quiñones Cordero, AIA, NCARB, is a distinguished architect with a career spanning 38 years, marked by a deep commitment to architectural excellence and historic preservation. Holding a B.S. in Architecture from Louisiana State University and complemented by studies in Civil and Industrial Engineering, Pablo’s multidisciplinary foundation has shaped his comprehensive approach to design.

Throughout his career, he has worked on projects across Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the state Florida, USA contributing to diverse architectural landscapes. His expertise extends to hospitality, multi-family residential, educational, institutional, and urban design projects, with a particular passion for historic preservation and adaptive reuse. His hospitality projects have been recognized for their innovative use of exposed architectural concrete, standing the test of time as enduring landmarks.

Pablo has played a pivotal role in the restoration of nationally registered historic buildings, working in close collaboration with the Puerto Rico Institute of Culture’s Built Patrimony Department and the State Historic Preservation Office. His work includes consulting on the restoration of Miami’s iconic Marine Stadium alongside renowned architects Hilario Candela and Richard Heisenbottle among others in the State of Florida. Recognized for his expertise, he has lectured on historic preservation at the Colegio de Arquitectos y Arquitectos Paisajistas de Puerto Rico and the Puerto Rico Capitol, advocating for the protection of the island’s architectural heritage.

In addition to his architectural practice, Pablo has provided construction management services for major public agencies, including the Puerto Rico Infrastructure Financing Authority (PRIFA), the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO), and the Puerto Rico Institute of Culture, successfully managing complex projects with demanding timelines and budgets.

A dedicated member of the American Institute of Architects (Puerto Rico, Miami, and Florida Chapters) and the Colegio de Arquitectos y Arquitectos Paisajistas de Puerto Rico, Pablo continues to bridge architectural traditions and modern design philosophies, enriching the built environment with a nuanced and forward-thinking perspective. In addition, he holds an NCARB Certificate, which qualifies him for reciprocal licensure across U.S. states and jurisdictions after a rigorous evaluation process that ensures compliance with national standards for education, experience, and examination.
